Problematizando o “velho”e o “idoso”sob a ótica do capital

Abstract

This study focuses on the discussion of the marginalization of the elderly before the capitalist society, in view of their physical and psychological limitations and the consequent contempt of the human being elderly by their inability to work and capital. This study aimed, through semi-structured interviews, to construct the notion of "being elderly" through the sociability practices developed by those in urban areas in Belo Horizonte. Therefore, he worked with twelve regulars aged from Sete Square in Belo Horizonte. The analytical method used for the interviews was the discourse analysis in its French slope. It was concluded that, except for those who may still have skills or knowledge exploited by capital, most of the elderly are seen as elder and therefore despised so pass not meet the needs of the labor market. Retirement, however, that would serve to support the elderly and return to the years of contribution to the security system, it turns out to be insufficient, and put them to the labor market again and again, reaffirming their marginalized position -occupying vacancies in informal employment and underemployment
