O presente artigo propõe apresentar uma reflexão concernente à relação entre imagem e palavra e suas múltiplas consequências observadas ao longo do percurso histórico, artístico e cultural desde o Renascimento, através das nomenclaturas dos vestuários. A cidade será o palco para a permanência de muitas lexias construídas ao longo de várias histórias e que serão registradas nos dicionários a partir do século XVII, em diferentes regiões da atual Europa. Através do levantamento de um volume de nomenclaturas que envolvem o universo sociocultural em torno aos vestuários, aos materiais têxteis e ao saber fazer, verifica-se, no período tratado, a construção de uma área específica de conhecimento: a Moda. A metodologia aborda o estudo de diferentes imagens das artes, bem como de textos antigos e contemporâneos quanto à história da Moda e a história das imagens, na qual os textos costuram sentidos mais amplos através da intermidialidade entre palavras e representações. As terminologias estudadas foram lexicograficamente definidas e organizadas em três núcleos principais: moda, espaço/tempo e sociedade. Entre as palavras e as imagens, encontramos um mundo material cuja representação iconográfica carrega sentidos mais amplos, criando janelas históricas e culturais que permitem à contemporaneidade se efetivar como espectadores do passado, como receptores de memórias.
Abstract
This article proposes to present a reflection concerning the relationship between the image and the word and its multiple consequences observed throughout the historical, artistic and cultural journey since the Renaissance, through the nomenclatures of the garments.
The city will be the stage for the permanence of many voices built over several stories and which will be registered in dictionaries from the 17th century onwards, in different regions of current Europe. Through the survey of a volume of nomenclatures that involve the sociocultural universe surrounding garments, textile materials and know-how, the construction of a specific area of knowledge is verified in the treated period: Fashion. The methodology addresses the study of different images of the arts, as well as ancient and contemporary texts regarding the history of Fashion and the history of images, where texts sew broader meanings through the intermidiality between words and representations. The terminologies studied were lexicographically defined and organized into three main groups: fashion, space / time and society. Between words and images, we find a material world whose iconographic representation carries broader meanings, creating historical and cultural windows that allow contemporaneity to become effective as spectators of the past, as recipients of memories.
