| dc.description.abstract | In this article, we will seek, through documentary research, to compare the understandings of Spatial Thinking, present in Learning to Think Spatially: GIS as a Support System in the K-12 Curriculum (NRC, 2006), with national research dedicated to identifying the intellectual components and movements involved in Geographic Reasoning. By identifying similarities, differences, and disagreements between the works analyzed, we seek an outline, albeit incipient, of what we understand as Geographic Reasoning. We consider such reasoning to be necessary for the study of the spatiality of a given phenomenon and, consequently, for the understanding of Spatial Practices. | |

| local.description.resumo | Neste artigo procuraremos, através de uma pesquisa documental, cotejar as compreensões sobre Pensamento Espacial, presentes no Learning to Think Spatially: GIS as a Support System in the K-12 Curriculum (NRC, 2006), às pesquisas nacionais dedicadas a identificação dos componentes e movimentos intelectuais envolvidos num Raciocínio Geográfico. Através da identificação de aproximações, distanciamentos e discordâncias entre os trabalhos analisados, buscamos um delineamento, ainda que incipiente, daquilo por nós compreendido como Raciocínio Geográfico. Tal raciocínio é por nós tomado como necessário ao estudo da espacialidade de um dado fenômeno e, em decorrência, à compreensão de Práticas Espaciais. | |
