dc.description.abstractThis study is the result of a theoretical research in the form of an integrative review. Aims to identify, in the literature, such as continuing education can contribute to changes in behavior of health professionals in the practice of prevention and control of nosocomial infections. It is hoped this study, create an information base for actions aimed atpromoting health and preventing diseases caused by infections. After reading articles and subsequent analysis, which yielded the synthesis of knowledge and the incorporation of the applicability of the significant studies in practice, it was possible to infer that education produces permanent changes between health professionals and their work. Thisindicates that the Continuing Education acts as indispensable and fundamental to the transformation of paradigms of health professionals, regarding mainly the practices of prevention and control of nosocomial infection

local.description.resumoEste estudo é o resultado de uma pesquisa teórica na modalidade de revisão integrativa. Teve como objetivo identificar, na literatura, como a educação permanente pode contribuir para mudanças de comportamento dos profissionais da saúde nas práticas deprevenção e controle das infecções hospitalares. Espera-se, com este estudo, criar uma base de informações para ações que visem promoção da saúde e prevenção de agravos decorrentes de infecções. Após a leitura de artigos e posterior análise, que proporcionaram a síntese de conhecimento e a incorporação da aplicabilidade dos estudossignificativos na prática, foi possível inferir que a educação permanente produz mudanças entre os profissionais de saúde e em seu trabalho. Com isso, conclui-se que a Educação Permanente age como fator indispensável e fundamental para a transformação de paradigmas dos profissionais de saúde, no que se refere, principalmente, às práticas deprevenção e controle de infecção hospitalar.
