Caracterização da discussão do autismo na comunidade brasileira do TikTok

Abstract

TikTok has stood out for its large number of users in Brazil. Among the shared content, those related to health stand out, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which receives significant attention. Objective: This research aims to examine the implications arising from the widespread dissemination of content about ASD for public understanding and perception of the condition. Method: The study focuses on the mapping and analysis of Portuguese-language videos related to ASD on TikTok. Results: The results reveal numerous views and a significant engagement rate associated with the content, as well as the predominance of positive sentiments identified in the comments of users who interact with these posts. Conclusion: The findings indicate the significant visibility given to discussions related to ASD on TikTok, which fosters the need for future evaluations regarding the quality of information shared in these videos and their impact on the individuals reached by the content.
