Relações intertextuais na poesia de caça romana

Abstract

In this article we wish to make literary analyses by means of using instruments related to intertextuality. By intertextuality we understand the generation of meanings arisen by readers under interfaces of a later work and a work it “echoes” (hypotext). The works chosen for this type of analyses are here represented by the Book III of the Georgics of Virgil, the Cynegeticon liber of Grattius Faliscus and the Cynegetica of Marcus Aurelius Olympius Nemesianus. The reason for these works having been chosen for a joint analysis is due to the existence of several points of contact among them, which can be seen when they are compared with each other. Such points of contact indicate us that Grattius must have read the above-mentioned work of Virgil, incorporating it into his own poem, and that Nemesianus must have read Virgil’s and Grattius’ works.
