O televisionamento do mundo: movimentos no tempo entre o dentro e o fora da televisão

Abstract

Television historically has been thought through a series of dichotomous relations, with a well-delimited and pacified “inside” and “outside”. In contrast to this perspective, in this article, we seek to develop a historic and reflexive exercise on modes of understanding of TV, from a term that has been widely used, but has been falling into disuse in recent years: it is “televising”. From the recovery of the strength of this metaphor and the exploration of certain current media phenomena (coming from “conventional” TV and YouTube, for example), we propose a tour of different television textualities, addressing some of its transformations, questioning self-centered perspectives. We conclude by emphasizing the importance of abandoning mid-centric analysis in order to understand the training and experience of current viewers, as well as the new realities that are being constructed in the midst of this world televising.
