Resumo
I aim to present a solution to the apparent paradox of theTractatusbymeans of a minimalist reading grounded in the idea that the correctlogical symbolism alone “finally solves” in essentials the philosophicalproblems. I argue that although the sentences of theTractatusarenonsensical, rules presented in its symbolism are not. The symbolismitself expresses only a priori rules of logic through schematic variablesthat do not say anything. I argue that this reading correctly expresses theladder structure of the book, and that it can account for Wittgenstein’scritique of theTractatusinSome Remarks on Logical Form.
