dc.description.abstractArt, once it mixes with life, fulfills its duty of memory demanded after the Shoah, and develops strategies to meet the challenge of representing the catastrophe. For that, it is fundamental to understand the complex relation of temporality that the 20th century went through, arriving at a culture of memory and the opening of the forbidden files. If recent history revealed great disremember, art shows that the image to be drawn up is of an inseparable pair: memory/forgetfulness. The strategies outlined reveal these tense negotiations with history: the fragmentation of language, attracting through anguish, re-presentation, and the insertion of the word in art. The frequent use of poetics of white in those images is also of prominence. The works of Rosângela Rennó and Leila Danziger, among other artists, were essential in this analysis.

local.description.resumoA arte, ao misturar-se com a vida, atende ao dever de memória exigido após a Shoah e desenvolve estratégias diante do desafio da representação da catástrofe. Para isso, é fundamental compreender a relação complexa com a temporalidade pela qual passou o século XX até chegar à cultura de memória e à abertura dos arquivos proibidos. Se a história recente mostrou grandes apagamentos, a arte demonstra que a imagem a elaborar-se é a de um par indissociável: memória/esquecimento. As estratégias que se esboçaram revelam essas negociações tensas com a história: fragmentação da linguagem, atrair pela angústia, presentificação, e a inserção da palavra na arte. Destacou-se também o uso frequente da poética do branco em tais imagens. As obras de Rosângela Rennó e Leila Danziger, entre outros artistas, foram essenciais nessa análise.
