Resumo

The occurrence of multiple supernumerary teeth is a rare con dition, requiring a decision of either monitoring or removing them. A healthy 18-year-old white man was referred by an orthodontist to extract one supernumerary tooth between teeth 45 and 46 and three in the 34 to 36 teeth region, found and located by panoram ic radiography and computerized tomography. Clinically, an increased volume was observed in the lingual region of 45 and 46. Surgical removal of 2 left and 1 right mandible supernumeraries under local anesthesia was performed using lingual approaches. The clinical and histopathological aspects of the dental follicle con firmed a dentigerous cyst. The third left deeply lodged supernumerary tooth was left behind to migrate to an occlusion position and then was removed 6 months after the first surgery. The postoperative period was uneventful and panoramic radiog raphy analysis revealed a complete repair of the surgical areas.
