dc.description.abstractChild psychiatry was one of the last medical specialties to emerge. The training of child psychiatrists in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais has been shaped by the arrival of the educator Helena Antipoff and the subsequent opening of the Medical Education Office. Soon after, the Child Neuropsychiatric Hospital of the city of Belo Horizonte was founded. The study of the institution's history, based on the concepts of circulation and reception of knowledge, supports the importance of pedagogy for the establishment of psychiatry in the period. Hence, it is possible to understand how child psychiatry became into a strongly interdisciplinary field of study.

local.description.resumoA psiquiatria infantil foi uma das últimas especialidades médicas a se estabelecer. A formação dessa área em Minas Gerais foi influenciada pela chegada de Helena Antipoff ao estado, a partir da inauguração do consultório médico pedagógico. Logo depois, é criado o Hospital Neuropsiquiátrico Infantil de Belo Horizonte. O resgate da história da instituição, a partir do conceito de circulação e recepção do conhecimento, reafirma a importância da pedagogia como aporte fundamental para a psiquiatria da época. Nesse sentido, foi possível perceber como a psiquiatria infantil tornou-se uma área marcada pela interdisciplinaridade.
