Resumo
A escultura sacra constitui um bem patrimonial cultural e embora seja considerada um bem tangível, ela possui valores intangíveis (valores históricos, estéticos e devocionais), e as fotografias dessas esculturas compõem a documentação delas. A pesquisa, de natureza aplicada e descritiva, utilizou o método Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin (1977) e buscou na literatura metodologias de representação de imagens que pudessem contemplar os aspectos considerados relevantes da fotografia de esculturas sacras. Para a representação desse tipo documental, é preciso considerar os aspectos intrínsecos (representação descritiva), os extrínsecos (representação temática), as questões visuais e as simbólicas, tanto da fotografia quanto da escultura. Ainda que de forma limitada, a fotografia de obras de arte constitui um instrumento de acesso à obra original e de democratização da cultura aos diversos seguimentos da sociedade. Como resultado de pesquisa, apresentam-se as características e os atributos das esculturas, as funções e os valores das esculturas sacras católicas e a representação dos aspectos simbólicos na parte específica da representação temática.
Abstract
The sacred sculpture constitutes a cultural heritage asset and, although it is considered a tangible asset, it has intangible values (historical, aesthetic and devotional values), and the photographs of these sculptures compose their documentation. The present research, which has an applied and descriptive nature, used Bardin's Content Analysis method (1977) and searched the literature for image representation methodologies that could contemplate the aspects considered relevant in the photography of sacred sculptures. For the representation of this type of document, it is necessary to consider the intrinsic aspects (descriptive representation), the extrinsic ones (thematic representation), the visual and symbolic aspects, both of photography and sculpture. Although in a limited way, the photography of works of art constitutes an instrument of access to the original work and of democratization of culture to the diverse segments of society. As a result of the research, the characteristics and attributes of the sculptures, the functions and values of Catholic sacred sculptures and the representation of symbolic aspects, which can be portrayed in the proposed methodology, in the specific part of the thematic representation, are presented.
