Resumo
Este trabalho apresenta a metodologia e os resultados alcançados na estruturação de projetos Desafio na disciplina de Introdução à Engenharia, oferecida aos estudantes do primeiro período de oito cursos de graduação da Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG. Atualmente, grande parte da disciplina é dedicada ao Desafio de Introdução à Engenharia, no qual estudantes são organizados em grupos multidisciplinares, e por intermédio da metodologia "Design Thinking", desenvolvem uma solução para alguma demanda identificada na universidade. O processo de ideação e execução conta com a colaboração de estudantes veteranos voluntários que assumem papel de instrutores e monitores. Esta atividade na disciplina de Introdução à Engenharia unificada foi idealizada no âmbito do Programa de Inovação para Educação em Engenharia - ENG200 e é coordenada por docentes coordenadores de cursos da Escola de Engenharia e por gestores do Programa ENG200. O desenvolvimento de projetos Desafio permite ao aluno recém ingresso desenvolver uma visão do que é ser engenheiro, por meio de uma metodologia ativa, tornando-o mais protagonista no seu processo de aprendizagem e criando uma identidade com o mundo da Engenharia.
Abstract
This paper presents the methodology and the results achieved in the design of the challenge projects in the Introduction to Engineering course, offered to students of the first period of eight undergraduate majors of the Engineering School of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG. Currently, much of the course is dedicated to the Introduction to Engineering Challenge, in which students are organized into multidisciplinary groups. Using the "Design Thinking” methodology, they develop a solution to some identified demand in the university. The process of ideation and execution counts on the collaboration of veteran students volunteers who assume the role of instructors and monitors. This activity in the unified Introduction to Engineering course was conceived within the scope of the Innovation Program for Engineering Education - ENG200 and is coordinated by teachers of the Engineering School majors and by ENG200 Program managers. The development of the challenge projects allows the incoming student to develop a vision of what it is to be an engineer, through an active methodology, making him/her more protagonist in his/her learning process and creating an identity with the world of Engineering.
