Abstract

The proposal of the dissertation “Cinematographic forms of remembrance of the military dictatorship by women: an analysis of the film Identification Photos,” is to investigate to what extent the cinema made by and with women, by remembering the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship, is capable of - through from researching archives, vestige montage, and testimonies - telling the story in opposition and reconstructing the memory of those who resisted the forms of oppression of the period. Focusing on the analysis of the formal strategies and narratives of Anita Leandro's Identification Photos (2014), it is of particular interest to the specificities of women's presence in the history of the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship and how this against-the-grain filmic writing activates, aesthetically and politically, the memory, the body and the feminine.
