Resumo
Com o advento de técnicas de modernas de neuroimagem tornou-se possível
investigar as mudanças neuroplásticas e neurofuncionais associadas aos mais
diversos tipos de psicoterapia. O artigo objetiva apresentar uma revisão integrativa de
literatura sobre as mudanças da atividade cerebral causadas pelo tratamento
psicoterápico em casos de transtornos depressivos e ansiosos. O trabalho demonstra
que as principais mudanças na atividade cerebral após o tratamento psicoterápico
foram na região do sistema límbico.
Abstract
With the advent of modern neuroimaging techniques, it became possible to investigate
neuroplastic and neurofunctional changes associated with the most diverse types of
psychotherapy. The article seeks to present an integrative literature review on
changes in brain activity caused by psychotherapeutic treatment in cases of
depression and anxiety. The article seeks the pathophysiology of anxiety and
depression and changes occurring in the brain resulting from psychotherapeutic
treatment. The work consists of an integrative literature review on changes in brain
functioning after psychotherapeutic treatment. The work demonstrates that the main
changes in brain activity after psychotherapeutic treatment were in the region of the
prefrontal cortex and the limbic system.
