Juan Radrigán e Plínio Marcos: contextos e textos dramáticos/espetaculares

Abstract

This thesis aims at carrying out a comparative study between the dramatic works of the Chilean playwright Juan Radrigán (1937) and the Brazilian playwright Plínio Marcos (1936/1999). The theoretical corpus of this study is based on contributions from the fields of comparative Literature, Semiotics, Esthetics of Reception and Cultural Studies. The study aims at a better understanding of the particularities of Brazilian and Chilean political histories, since the two playwrights studied conceived great part of their dramatic works under the dictatorial period in their respective countries. The analysis of the dramatic work of Juan Radrigán in comparison with Plínio Marcos' allows us not only to recognize the common elements of their texts, but also understand the reasons that led the plavwrights to make the marginalized characters the central focus of their plays. On the other hand, the analysis done enables us to recognize similar problems that unite Brazilians and Chileans and, at the same time, they become a tool for disclosure of the work of the authors in the academic field.
