2022 é um ano repleto de datas importantes para a Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais e para as políticas de ações afirmativas no Brasil. Neste ano, a UFMG, fundada em 1927, completa 95 anos. O Programa de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão Ações Afirmativas na UFMG, fundado em 2002, completa 20 anos e a Lei nº 12.711, popularmente conhecida como Lei de Cotas e promulgada em 2012, completa 10 anos. Tanto para a UFMG quanto para o Programa Ações Afirmativas e para a Lei de Cotas, foi fundamental a atuação de Nilma Lino Gomes, professora da UFMG e ex-ministra das Mulheres, da Igualdade Racial e dos Direitos Humanos, no governo de Dilma Roussef. Nesta entrevista, a professora Nilma nos revela como seu trabalho na Faculdade de Educação e sua atuação, sempre coletiva, à frente do Programa Ações Afirmativas estabeleceram as bases para as transformações observadas na Universidade nos anos seguintes.
Abstract
2022 is a year full of important dates for the Federal University of Minas Gerais and for the affirmative actions policies in Brazil. At the present date, UFMG, founded in 1927, turns 95 years old. The Affirmative Action Program at UFMG, founded in 2002, is 20 years old and Law 12.711, popularly known as Quota Law, which was enacted in 2012, is now 10 years old. For UFMG, for the Affirmative Actions Program and for the Quota Law, the performance of Nilma Lino Gomes, UFMG professor and former minister of Human Rights, Racial Equality and Women in the government of Dilma Roussef, was fundamental. In this interview, Professor Nilma reveals how her performance at the Faculty of Education and her always collective work at the head of Affirmative Actions laid the foundations for the transformations observed at the University in the following years.
