A importância da moldagem a partir da técnica com casquete em periodonto vascular: relato de caso

Abstract

One of the main challenges in prosthetic rehabilitation is the accurate registration of dental preparations with subgingival finish lines, especially at the sulcular level. Various methods are used to achieve gingival retraction and thus allow proper impression of the finish line. However, some techniques can be traumatic, particularly in patients with a thin gingival biotype. This study presents a clinical case report using the customized cap technique, highlighting its importance in impression-taking for preparations in highly vascularized periodontal tissues. The case demonstrated that this approach allows excellent control of sulcular fluid and precise access to the finish line, minimizing the risk of tissue trauma. Additionally, it reinforces the importance of a thorough evaluation of the gingival phenotype as an essential component of clinical planning. It is concluded that the customized cap technique represents an efficient and safe alternative for impressions in patients with a delicate gingival biotype and highly vascularized periodontium.
