Do ateliê à sala de aula: o ensino de artes visuais e a moda como prática criativa

Abstract

This article explores the intersection of fashion and art within the context of visual arts education, investigating the potential of textile creation as a pedagogical tool. Drawing from the author's personal experience with the world of sewing, this study seeks to analyze how fashion, as an artistic and cultural expression, can be integrated and valued in visual arts education, promoting creativity, self-expression, and a sense of belonging. The article focuses on the creative process in art, using the works of artists such as Arthur Bispo do Rosário, Hélio Oiticica, and Leonilson as "models." These artists utilized textile materials as a means of connecting art and fashion in their productions. It is hoped that this study will contribute to a broader and more inclusive understanding of art in education, celebrating fashion as a legitimate and powerful form of artistic expression, in line with the demands of contemporary visual arts education. It is important to emphasize that, in discussing the relationship between fashion and art, the primary intention of this article is to investigate the various creative possibilities in art derived from the materials and techniques employed in fashion, that is, in the production of clothing. Thus, it highlights its potential as a highly creative resource for both artistic and pedagogical practice.
