Resumo
A proposta do artigo é compreender a mediação do outro e o potencial crítico desse processo a partir do debate sobre o racismo em um programa de TV que “experimenta” com o cotidiano, o Vai fazer o quê? (TV Globo). Inicialmente, investigamos o que a representação construída em um dos episódios do programa nos afirma sobre o contexto midiático-social contemporâneo e refletimos sobre a forma como a própria narrativa que tenta criticar o racismo brasileiro acaba sendo atravessada, ela própria, por ideologias racistas. Por fim, questionamos os limites éticos de um “experimento” televisivo que coloca sujeitos comuns involuntariamente em situações de sofrimento e tentamos apreender o papel do programa na crítica que realiza sobre o racismo em nossa sociedade.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to understand the mediation of the other and its critical potential starting from the racism debate of television show that produces “experiments” with the everyday life, called Vai fazer o quê? (TV Globo). Initially, we investigate what the representation built in one of the episodes of this show tells us about the social and media contemporary contexts and we relect on how this narrative that tries to criticize Brazilian racism ends up being itself crossed by racist ideologies. At last, we question the ethical limits of a television “experiment” that puts ordinary subjects in sufering situations without their consent and we try to apprehend the show’s role on the critics it makes on racism in Brazilian society
