| local.description.resumo | Loudness control for brodcasting is a common and legally required practice since the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Recommendation ITU-R BS.1770 for measurements in stereo and 5.1. content. However, for new immersive audio formats composed of more than six channels, there is room for improvement of the ITU model. In this sense, the present work proposes an increase in the psychoacoustic load of the algorithm by means of auralization techniques. The proposal consists in breaking the K-weighting curve used and replacing the head shadowing filter by signal convolution with simulated impulse responses from living rooms and head related transfer functions (HRTFs) for 9- and 22-channel configurations. The proposed improvement was compared with existing loudness models and also with auditory test results. | |
