O adolescente e as doenças sexualmente transmissíveis

Abstract

It is narrative literature review aimed to identify the variables that surround sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents with major focus on the issue of vulnerability, from the literature. The search for articles using the keywords teen and sexually transmitted diseases was made in the LILACS database. Reading articles and books generated the construction of two categories: the definition phase of adolescence and teenage STDs and vulnerability. It was found that early sexual intercourse occurs among teens which puts them in great vulnerability to STDs and thus constitutes, today, in large public health problem. Data analysis also showed that the susceptibility of adolescents against STIs is linked to several factors, from the physical, emotional and social to the ignorance, socioeconomic status, education, and search for health care. Thus, it is essential to the multiprofessional health team work together and plan actions that involve education, welfare and health in order to succeed in the inclusion of adolescents in activities offered by health facilities.
