Resumo
Nesta dissertação, busco investigar como os discursos de mulheres multiartistas se inserem nas teorias e estudos feministas, intermídia e da arte contemporânea. Apresento multiartistas que através de suas obras, questionam a performatividade de gênero e padrões sociais, dando visibilidade a discussões que nos fazem avançar enquanto sociedade, nos dando mais formas de refletir e questionar tudo aquilo com o que nos deparamos em nossas experiências de vida. Para isso, apresento um conjunto de conversas realizadas com as multiartistas brasileiras Carol Botura, Efe Godoy, Marta Neves e Vanessa de Michelis, que contaram sobre sua formação, seus percursos artísticos e suas formas de ver e entender o mundo da arte e a sociedade, de modo que os estudos teóricos da dissertação sejam complementados pelas conversas e vice-versa. Esta pesquisa tem o interesse em entender o mundo da arte não somente a partir da ótica dos teóricos da arte ou dos artistas, isoladamente, mas por investigar os cruzamentos entre o pensar e o fazer. Em complemento, trato dos meus processos criativos a partir da minha experiência como mulher multiartista, refletindo e descrevendo de que forma minha criação acontece principalmente entre a música, a fotografia, o vídeo e a performance. Abordo, em minhas produções, assuntos ligados à política e ao corpo feminino na cidade, traçando ligações entre temas e linguagens que se aproximam e criam sentido, unidade e identidade em minhas obras.
Abstract
In this dissertation, I investigate how the discourses of multi-artist women are related to feminist, intermedia and contemporary art theories and studies. I present multi-artists who, through their works, question gender performativity and social standards, giving visibility to discussions that move us forward as a society, giving us more ways to reflect and question everything we come across in our life experiences. To this end, I present a set of conversations held with Brazilian multi-artists Carol Botura, Efe Godoy, Marta Neves and Vanessa de Michelis, who talked about their training, their artistic paths and their ways of seeing and understanding the art world and society, so that the theoretical studies of the dissertation are complemented by these conversations and vice versa. This research is interested in understanding the world of art not only from the perspective of art theorists or artists, in isolation, but by investigating the intersections between thinking and doing. In addition, I explore my creative processes based on my experience as a multi-artist woman, reflecting and describing how my creative process takes place between music, photography, video and performance. In my artworks, I address issues linked to politics and the female body in the city, drawing connections between themes and languages that come together and create meaning, unity and identity in my works.
