Cursos da saúde: integração e responsabilidade social no enfrentamento da pandemia

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic affected undergraduate courses in the Health area, which were faced with a dilemma on how to reconcile the social responsibility of participating in the health care of the population in the municipality and in the state with the biosecurity demands imposed by the pandemic. . At the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), there are 14 courses in the Health area that share the same space, the same resources and the same academic policies. Thinking together about the challenges experienced was a movement of solidarity, integration and cohesion. The purpose of this article is to report this experience. The context before the pandemic, the performance before ministerial ordinances, the elaboration of guidelines for emergency remote teaching and the situation of curricular internships are described. The importance of collective construction in facing the difficulties to guarantee safety, equity and quality in the training of health professionals at UFMG is highlighted.
