| dc.description.abstract | This article will present the artwork Knobby Clubrush, based on the scientific concept of neurobiology. For this field of science, plants are like collective intelligences, or compared to the animal world they are swarm intelligences. This characteristic means that a plant can be seen not as an individuality, but as an assemblage. Within this logic, various behavioral characteristics and the formal evolutionary solutions of plants can be incorporated for the development of robotic art. Therefore, the article presents the foundations of neurobiology and how they can be transposed to the development of robotics as poetics based on a concrete example. Knobby Clubrush is an aesthetic object built within this model, and in this artwork, it is used as a reference for arguments about neurobiology and robotic art. | |

| local.description.resumo | Esse artigo apresentará o objeto estético Knobby Clubrush, baseado no conceito científico de neurobiologia. Para este campo da ciência, plantas são como inteligências coletivas, ou comparado-se ao mundo animal são inteligências de enxame. Essa característica faz com que uma planta possa ser observada não como uma individualidade, mas um assemblage. Dentro deste raciocínio, várias características de comportamento e as soluções evolutivas formais das plantas podem ser incorporados para o desenvolvimento de arte robótica. Sendo assim, o artigo apresenta os fundamentos do pensamento da neurobiologia e como eles podem ser transpostos para o desenvolvimento de uma robótica de cunho poético a partir de um exemplo concreto. Knobby Clubrush é um objeto estético construído dentro desse modelo, e neste trabalho, é usado como referência para argumentação sobre a neurobiologia e a arte robótica. | |
