Mathematics festival: a broad dissemination project

| dc.description.abstract | As ações de popularização da matemática têm uma longa história. Na biografia de David Hilbert [2], por exemplo, o autor descreve conferências de divulgação, dadas em 1921 por este proeminente matemático para estudantes em seu retorno à universidade após a guerra, que continuaram ao longo desta década. Atualmente, a reflexão sobre ações de popularização da matemática ganha um espaço cada vez maior entre a comunidade de professores e matemáticos profissionais. No site www.mathunion.org/icm, por exemplo, é possível consultar diferentes trabalhos publicados sobre este tema nos resumos do Congressos Internacionais de Matemática, organizados pela International Union of Mathematicians (IMU). A Comissão Internacional de Instrução Matemática (ICMI) dedicou as 16ª Conferências de Estudo do ICMI [1] a tópicos sobre a popularização da matemática. O projeto "Matemática em todos os lugares: atividades para festivais de matemática no estado de Minas Gerais "foi uma iniciativa realizada por um grupo de professores do Departamento de Matemática da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), no Brasil, com o objetivo de contribuir para a popularização do conhecimento matemático e o aprimoramento do ensino e aprendizagem dos Matemática através da realização de Festivais de Matemática foi parcialmente apoiado pelo CNPq em atendimento à Portaria MCTIC / CNPq02 / 2017 em apoio à atividades de divulgação e popularização da matemática, durante o National Science e Semana de Tecnologia em 2017. | |

| local.description.resumo | The actions of popularizing mathematics have a long history. In the biography of David Hilbert [2], for example, the author describes disclosure conferences, given in 1921 by this prominent mathematician to students on their return to university after the war, that continued throughout this decade. At present, the reflection on actions of popularization of mathematics gains an increasing space between the community of professors and professional mathematicians. In the site www.mathunion.org/icm, for example, it is possible to consult different published works on this one topic in the summaries of the International Mathematical Congresses, organized by the International Union of Mathematicians (IMU). The International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) devoted the 16th ICMI Study Conferences [1] to topics on the popularization of mathematics. The project "Mathematics everywhere: activities for mathematics festivals in the state of Minas Gerais" was an initiative carried out by a group of professors from the Department of Mathematics of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, wiht the objetive to contribute to the popularization of mathematical knowledge and the improvement of teaching and learning of Mathematics through the realization of Mathematical Festivals. It was partially supported by CNPq in response to the Edict MCTIC/CNPq02/2017 in support of activities of dissemination and popularization of mathematics, during the National Science and Technology Week in 2017. | |
