Relação família e escola: entre os limites e as possibilidades

Abstract

The present study aims to analyze and reflect on the influence of the family on the performance of students of a public school in the municipal network of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais. Parallel to this, it is also proposed to identify the effects generated by the presence or absence of the family nucleus in the students' performance, as well as to reflect on actions that contribute to bring family and school closer together. The methods used are qualitative and quantitative, since the research presents both the subjective view of the subjects involved in the teaching and learning process and quantifiable data to better elucidate the problem. Starting from the bibliographic review on the subject, it also addresses the daily reality of a given community, constituting itself, therefore, in a type of case study. To collect data, semi-structured questionnaires were applied to different segments of the institution. Due to the complexity of the topic, the content analysis technique was used in which the results described corroborate the initial hypothesis in which the family perceives the family as an important partner of the teaching and learning process in the school environment, contributing to the involvement and the best performance of students. Nevertheless, this work should not be understood as a reality present in all the educational institutions of the country, since it presents only a partial and subjective view of a particular community in particular.
