dc.description.abstractThis work aims to understand the attributes of the picturebook in visual arts teaching, to conceptualize this object and to outline its specificities and, finally, to investigate the potentialities and relevance of reading images of this type of book in teaching/learning Visual Arts. In the picturebook, the image is privileged and its interrelationship with text and support challenges conventional reading habits, which generally do not explore the images. To read or mediate a picturebook in its completeness it is necessary to understand the particularities of each work and the relationships established in this object. Art/education is dedicated to investigate the ways we learn and teach Art; in contemporary, art teaching is challenged to contribute to the formation of individuals capable of critically analyzing and understanding images, whether of art or not. This research presents the origin and evolution of the picturebook in the combination of image and texts, the centers of categorization through which this type of work transits, and analyzes the relationships established within a selected work as support to art-educators and readers who wish to explore more thoroughly the picturebook. We intend to contribute to the valorization of visual language and the fomentation of new practices within the classroom by reading images from the picturebook.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoEste trabalho tem como objetivo compreender os atributos do livro ilustrado no Ensino de Artes Visuais, conceituar este objeto e delinear as suas especificidades e, por fim, investigar as potencialidades e a relevância da leitura de imagens deste tipo de livro no ensino/aprendizagem de Artes Visuais. No livro ilustrado, a imagem é privilegiada e sua inter-relação com texto e suporte desafia os hábitos convencionais de leitura, que geralmente não exploram as imagens. Para ler ou mediar um livro ilustrado em sua completude faz-se necessário compreender as particularidades de cada obra e as relações estabelecidas neste objeto. A arte/educação se dedica a investigar os modos como aprendemos e ensinamos Arte; na contemporaneidade, o ensino de arte é desafiado a contribuir na formação de indivíduos capazes de analisar criticamente e compreender as imagens, sejam de arte ou não. Esta pesquisa apresenta a origem e evolução do livro ilustrado na combinação de imagem e textos, os polos de categorização pelos quais este tipo de obra transita, e analisa as relações estabelecidas dentro de uma obra selecionada como apoio a arte-educadores e leitores que desejam explorar mais a fundo o livro ilustrado. Pretendemos contribuir na valorização da linguagem visual e na fomentação de novas práticas dentro de sala de aula através da leitura de imagens do livro ilustrado.pt_BR
