Para não ter que dizer adeus: a educação como suporte para redução de homicídios de adolescentes negras e negros, a experiência de Belo Horizonte/MG

Abstract

This thesis discusses the place of education in the intersect strategy to protect the life of black and black adolescents, aged 12 to 15 years enrolled in the last four years of elementary education in public schools in Belo Horizonte / MG. The research investigates, in public documents produced between 2013 and 2019, how the dialogue between homicide containment strategies and the prevention of the crime of adolescents and young people with education has been carried out, and how it has positioned itself in this dialogue with others sectors responsible for this theme. We analyzed in the research a) the Report of the WG on Preventing the Lethality of Young People and Adolescents, carried out by the Belo Horizonte Municipal Security and Prevention Secretariat, 2018; b) Guide for Assistance to Children and Adolescents Victims of Domestic, Sexual and Other Violence in Primary Health Care, Belo Horizonte, prepared by the Municipal Health Department, 2013; c) School: Place of Protection - Guidance and Referrals Guide, Belo Horizonte Secretary de Education, 2019 e; d) Restorative Justice at School: Forming citizens through dialogue and participatory coexistence, prepared by the Center for Guidance and Resolution of School Conflicts - NODS of the Justice and Restorative Practices Commission of the Permanent Forum of the Belo Horizonte Social Assistance System. The research had as theoretical basis studies carried out in the last twenty years that have pointed out violence, above all, violent events that occurred around schools, or in the territory where they are, as one of the factors that could be producing not only a drop in learning of students attending such schools, but would also be driving this population away from the world of education by increasing dropout rates. The present study sought to identify the role of education in the intersect care and protection strategy for black and black adolescents who live in territories recognized as violent.
