| Abstract: | Este estudo propõe uma reflexão sobre as imagens na comunicação. Para isso, serão resgatados os conceitos de imagem dialética e montagem em Walter Benjamin. Argumenta-se que a imagem dialética em Walter Benjamin vai além de sua concepção de aura proporcionando um entendimento mais amplo sobre o próprio estatuto das imagens. Em outras palavras, Benjamin nos fornece subsídios conceituais para aprofundarmos nos estudos sobre a representação imagética dos objetos do mundo contemporâneo, em sua relação com a história e a memória. Nosso objeto de análise é a obra videográfica The Old Place (1998), de Jean-Luc Godard e Anne-Marie Miéville. As conexões entre o pensamento de Benjamin e a obra de Godard são amparados, principalmente, pelas considerações de Georges Didi-Huberman. |
| Abstract: | This study offers an analysis of the images in the field of communication.The concepts of dialectical images and montage in Walter Benjamin will be covered. It is argued that the dialectical images in Benjamin goes beyond his notion of aura, providing a broader understanding about its semiotic functions. In other words, Benjamin provides conceptual references to enhance the studies about the way images represent objects ofthe contemporary world regarding certain aspects as memory and history. Our object of analysis is the Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville’s film called The Old Place (1998). The connections between the thought of Benjamin and the work of Godard are supported,mainly,by Georges Didi-Huberman. |
