Abstract: | This work was carried out to evaluate the inclusion of sunflower meal in the diet on intake of lambs and digestibility of nutrientes. Twenty four lambs distributed in randomized block designs were used. The blocks were divided according to the initial body weight of the animals. The treatments were differents levels of sunflower meal inclusion: 0, 100, 200 and 300 g kg-1 of dry matter. The experimental period lasted 60 days, divided into three periods of twenty days, in each period 15 days for the adaptation of the animals and 5 days of collection. The analysis of the dry matter (DM), mineral matter (MM), crude protein (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) were performed. The use of sunflower meal did not influence the DM and MO intakes (P> 0.05), with averages of 612.425 g / day; 50.48 g / UTM / day; 565.81 g / day; 46.64 g / UTM / day respectively. The intake of non-fibrous carbohydrates reduced linearly (P <0.05) with the inclusion of SM, and daily intake of NDF and ADF increased linearly (P <0.05). The digestibility of DM, OM, NDF and non-fibrous carbohydrates was also linearly reduced (P <0.05). The sunflower meal when included in up to 300 g kg-1 in the sheep diet does not alter the consumption of the animals, however it reduces the digestibility of the carbohydrates. |
