A importância do estudo dos critérios de textualidade na formação do leitor no gênero meme

Abstract

This work approaches the theme of reading training in a verbal language and language no verbal, focusing on texts that circulate in the digital sphere as an object of analysis of textuality factors. The main goal was to investigate the production of meaning in the meme genre in the light of text constitutive criteria – intentionality, acceptability, situationality, informativity, intertextuality, cohesion and coherence. Regarding the specific objectives, we intended to: (i) identify the intertext present in the configuration of the meme genre, pointing out the world knowledge involved; (ii) discuss the iconic relationship (verbal and nonverbal) that constitutes this genre; and (iii) interpret the effects of meaning in a context of materialization of textuality components. As a theoretical foundation, we relied on Antunes (2005, 2010, 2017), Marcuschi (2005, 2008), Koch (2004), Koch and Travaglia (1997), Santos (2013), Silva (2017), Zani (2003), among others. Methodologically, this research has a qualitative approach and a descriptive-interpretative nature, and with an inductive approach. The corpus consists of five memes published between 2018 and 2021, extracted from various internet pages, referring to subjects that discuss the pandemic crisis, abusive fuel prices, and teachers’ life during the quarantine and besides that, the desire of an entire population for the development of a COVID-19 vaccine. The results show that the dialogic intertwining between social reality and the domains of art, entertainment, advertising, music, health and logistics permeate the construction of all texts.
