Authors: | Isadora Carvalho Ferreira Buchala Marina Soares Silva Eleonora Sad de Assis |
Abstract: | Given the need to create more climate-friendly urban spaces, which are more biodiverse and more resilient to the effects to climate change, the concept of green infrastructure has been widely disseminated and studied in recent researches. Some gaps in knowledge can be observed whe discussing the applicability of the concept, especially in denser and more diversified cities in its urban network, and the purpose of this article is to reflect briefly on the issue. In this study cases were raises for the understanding of the applicability of the concept. The German methodology is presented as an urban planning tool that considers vegetation as a modifying element of space and climate. Finally, without the intention of exhausting the debate, we come to the reflection that the concept of green infrastructure can contribute to the protection of natural areas and increase biodiversity in the urban network, including afforestation as a resource for urban planning but there is much to be discussed to minimize methodological confusion, thus facilitating understanding of the concept and how to apply it. |
