| Abstract: | Este trabalho dissertativo visa discutir a prioridade temporal da ousia justificada pelo aspecto da separação apresentada por Aristóteles no livro Z 1 da Metafísica. De fato, no primeiro capítulo do livro Z Aristóteles afirma que a ousia é anterior segundo a definição, já que na definição das demais categorias se inclui, necessariamente, a definição da ousia; é anterior também segundo o conhecimento, pois no conhecimento das demais categorias é necessário, em primeiro lugar, o conhecimento da ousia. Do mesmo modo, ele afirma que a ousia é primeira no tempo pelo fato de ser a única das categorias que é separada. Assim, o intuito deste trabalho é discutir sobretudo a prioridade temporal e a separação que não foi explicada por Aristóteles na passagem Metaph. 1028a 33-34. A partir do levantamento das leituras e interpretações feitas ao longo da história de tal passagem, pretende-se observar o estado do problema e de que modo os mais relevantes intérpretes tentaram responder ao “aparente” impasse. Dado que o tema da separação e da prioridade é recorrente em outros contextos aristotélicos, e considerando que na passagem em questão Aristóteles discorre sobre tal problema, pretende-se, do mesmo modo, discutir outros tipos de prioridade como, por exemplo, prioridade lógica, prioridade segundo a natureza e a ousia, prioridade temporal e prioridade segundo o ato em relação à potência. Outrossim, apontar alguns tipos de separação que possam ser relevantes, tais como, separação local, separação ontológica, separação de outras ousiai e separação pelo pensamento que ajudem a pensar na hipótese que solucione a problemática. De posse da análise do texto de Metafísica Z e de qual a verdadeira ousia nomeada por Aristóteles, levantar uma resposta plausível para o tipo de separação que é própria da ousia como forma, qual seja, a separação pelo pensamento. |
| Abstract: | This dissertation aims to discuss the temporal priority of ousia justified by the aspect of separation presented by Aristotle in the book Z 1 of Metaphysics. In fact, in the first chapter of the book Z Aristotle states that daring is prior according to the definition since the definition of the other categories necessarily includes the definition of ousia; it is also prior according to knowledge, because to know the other categories it’s necessary, first of all, to have the knowledge of ousia. Likewise, he states that ousia is first in time because it is the only one of the categories that is separated. Thus, the purpose of this paper is mainly to discuss the temporal priority and the notion of separation that was not explained by Aristotle in the passage Metaph.1028a 33-34. From the survey of readings and interpretations made throughout the reception of this passage we intend to observe the state of the status questionis and how the most relevant interpreters tried to respond interpret the “apparent” impasse. Given that the issue of separation and priority is recurrent in other Aristotelian contexts and considering that in the passage in question Aristotle discusses this problem, it is likewise we will also discuss other types of priority, such as logical priority, priority according to the nature and ousia, temporal priority and priority according to the act in relation to the power. So, we will point out some interpretations regarding separation that may be relevant, such as local separation, ontological separation, separation from other ousiai and separation by thought that help us think about the hypothesis that solves the problem. Having analyzed of the text of Metaphysics Z and what seems to be the proper understanding of ousía, we can finally propose a plausible answer to the kind of separation that is proper to ousia as a form, namely, the separation by thought. |
