O impacto do ruído numa sociedade em contexto pandêmico

Abstract

Noise is considered one of the main causes of environmental pollution, behind only to water and air. From 2020, with the social isolation caused by the CoVid-19 pandemic, a large part of the population exchanged the workplace and study for the domestic environment, changing the soundscape and the relationship of people with noise. That way, this paper aims to understand the incidence of people's complaints about noise during the social withdrawal caused by CoVid-19, from the understanding of the relationship of people with sounds and understanding the affectation of noise on them through literature review. It was also analyzed, from documentary research, the complaints identified about noise pollution in the period before and during the pandemic in the municipal management listening channels of the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. It also categorized the noises identified in the complaints through desk research in major newspapers in the mentioned cities, and pointed out suggestions to mitigate the impacts caused by noise exposure inherent to the pandemic soundscape. Finally, it was observed that in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro the number of complaints during the social distancing increased, while in Belo Horizonte this number even dropped in the first year of the pandemic, and then leveled off with previous years. Furthermore, it was noted that the three capitals are more affected by noise from different sources.
