| Abstract: | Esta comunicação visa apresentar o projeto Observatório do Racismo e da Informação (ORI), do Núcleo de Estudos sobre Performances, Patrimônio e Mediações Culturais (NEPPaMCs) da Escola de Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (ECI/UFMG). Analisa a problemática da persistência do racismo nas sociedades em rede, focalizando, em especial, as experiências vivenciadas atualmente por pessoas, grupos e comunidades tradicionais de descendência africana no contexto atual da sociedade brasileira. Na parte teórico-conceitual, parte-se de autores como Carlos Moore (2012), Stuart Hall (2006), Edward Telles (2003), Lilia Schwarcz (1993), entre outros intelectuais ao discutir a noção de racismo. Apoia-se em Saldanha, Souza e Sales (2018) e Lima e Alvares (2012) para responder por que estudar racismo na Ciência da informação e justificar a proposta metodológica da organização de informação em ambientes digitais. Considera-se três dimensões de conteúdos temáticos, objetivando contribuir para o mapeamento dos discursos sobre racismos no ambiente web. |
| Abstract: | This paper aims to present the project Observatory on Racism and Information (ORI), of the Center for Studies on Performances, Heritage and Cultural Mediations (NEPPaMCs), School of Information Science, Federal University of Minas Gerais (ECI/UFMG). It analyzes the problem of the persistence of racism in networked societies, focusing in particular on the experiences currently experienced by people, groups and traditional communities of African descent in the current context of Brazilian society. In the theoretical-conceptual part, we start with authors such as Carlos Moore (2012), Stuart Hall (2006), Edward Telles (2003), Lilia Schwarcz (1993), among other intellectuals in discussing the notion of racism. It relies on Saldanha, Souza and Sales (2018) and Lima and Alvares (2012) to answer why study racism in Information Science and justify the methodological proposal of information organization in digital environments. Three dimensions of thematic content are considered, aiming to contribute to the mapping of discourses about racism in the web environment. |
