A produção científica sobre Ischools em programas de pós-graduação em Ciência da Informação no Brasil

Abstract

The information schools, or simply ischools, had their movement started with meetings in the mid-1990s, and were effectively implemented in the 2000s in the United States. With a strong adherence to technologies, information, and society, currently, ischools are represented by 116 institutions around the world, mostly in Central America, Asia, and Europe. To a lesser extent, by institutions in South America, Africa, and Oceania. The only ischool in Brazil is working at the School of Communications and Arts in the University of São Paulo. In this regard, watching ischools as a product of the Information Science, this article intends, utilizing bibliographic and descriptive research, to analyze the scientific production about the ischools in carried out researches on digital repositories and digital libraries of 18 academic institutions, in all Brazilian regions which have Graduate Programs in Information Science.The results have shown that the subject is still incipient in academic studies in Brazil, with representation in doctoral thesis and master’s dissertations in the Postgraduate Program in Knowledge Management and Organization, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and in typologies such as book, article, chapter book, and event work at the University of São Paulo.
