| Abstract: | No ensino de Ciências, uma das abordagens que tem se destacado é o ensino a partir de temas CTS. Pesquisas indicam que a abordagem CTS pode potencializar o engajamento dos estudantes em estudar sobre ciências. Entretanto, não há consenso na literatura sobre a contribuição do ensino CTS para a aprendizagem de conceitos científicos. É objetivo deste trabalho investigar se essa perspectiva de ensino apresenta indícios de que contribui para a apropriação dos conhecimentos científicos. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma sequência didática CTS em duas turmas de EJA. Realizamos gravações em vídeo e áudio das aulas e ao final os estudantes responderam uma avaliação escrita. A análise dos episódios de ensino e das respostas dos estudantes ao instrumento avaliativo nos permitiu concluir que o ensino CTS pode contribuir para a aprendizagem de conceitos científicos, principalmente quando esse processo se dá de maneira problematizada e fazendo o uso de evidências. |
| Abstract: | In science education, one of the approaches that has been highlighted is the teaching from STS themes. Research indicates that the STS approach can enhance students' engagement in studying science. However, there is no consensus in the literature about the contribution of STS teaching to the learning of scientific concepts. The objective of this study is to investigate whether this teaching perspective presents evidence that it contributes to the appropriation of scientific knowledge. For that, a STS didactic sequence was developed in two classes of adult education. We made video and audio recordings of the classes and at the end the students answered a written evaluation. Analysis of recordings and student responses allowed us to conclude that the STS education can contribute to the learning of scientific concepts, especially when this process occurs in a problematized way and using evidence. |
