dc.description.abstractO útero de Couvelaire é uma complicação grave do descolamento prematuro da placenta. Durante décadas, o tratamento padrão para o útero de Couvelaire foi a histerectomia. No entanto, o conceito tradicional de que o sangramento do miométrio interfere na contratilidade uterina resultando em atonia não é mais justificado e a histerectomia pode nem sempre ser necessária. O objetivo do presente trabalho é descrever uma técnica utilizada para conservação uterina em dois casos de apoplexia uteroplacentária.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoCouvelaire uterus is a severe complication of placental abruption. For decades, the standard treatment for Couvelaire's uterus was hysterectomy. However, the traditional concept that myometrial bleeding interferes with uterine contractility resulting in atony is no longer justified and hysterectomy may not always be necessary. The objective of the present work is to describe a technique used for uterine conservation in two cases of uteroplacental apoplexy.pt_BR
