A utilização de um videoclipe de rock para discussões sobre o tema evolução em uma perspectiva CTS

Abstract

This work is a pedagogical intervention research developed with the objective of analyzing the students' perceptions of a pedagogical intervention based on the CTS perspective, which aims to arouse in students reflections that promote an attitude taking on the understanding of the human social evolution theme and its consequences. For this, the Learning Object was used as a pedagogical resource, a rock video clip (subtitled) involving the social-scientific theme "Human Evolution". The video clip used covers the song "Do the Evolution" by Pearl Jam. The pedagogical intervention that makes up this research took place in a public high school in Contagem, MG. The research was carried out through a pedagogical intervention in Chemistry. It took place in a third year high school class with 27 students. The activity was developed in four stages: the audio playback of the song and reading of the lyrics by the students, playback of the video clip with the students' perception of the theme, collective discussion about the evolution theme, and finally a self-evaluation about the activity. The data collection occurred through written material produced by students throughout the stages of the intervention. The results indicate that the learning object rock music video proved to be a pedagogical resource of great relevance for the teaching of science from the STS perspective, because the approach involved planned activities, which enabled reflection and critical analysis on the subject. The intervention also collaborated with the promotion of student protagonism in relation to their learning, contributing to the formation of intellectually independent students.
