| Abstract: | Avaliamos criticamente o papel desempenhado pelos registros fotográficos na construção de representações sobre o espaço urbano e o patrimônio cultural, dentro de uma perspectiva que leva em conta o conceito de cultura visual, com o propósito de considerar as potencialidades da fotografia produzida pelo próprio historiador como ferramenta metodológica de pesquisa. Nosso olhar em campo voltado para certas edificações e locais atenta para usos e contra-usos do patrimônio para compreender e registrar a enunciação pedestre dos citadinos, propondo outro repertório visual em contraponto às panorâmicas, aos planos gerais que caracterizam olhares que partem do poder público ou do mercado. |
| Abstract: | We critically evaluate the role played by photographic records in the construction of representations about urban space and heritage, within a perspective that takes into account the concept of visual culture, with the purpose of considering the potential of photography produced by the historian himself as a methodological research tool. Our fieldwork view, focused on certain buildings and places, takes account of uses and counter-uses of heritage to understand and record the pedestrian enunciation of city dwellers, proposing another visual repertoire in contrast to the panoramic, general plans that characterize views that come from government or market. |
