Abstract: | The internet has profoundly changed the way we live, communicate, and perceive the world. Through it, we are able to expand our connections both physically and cognitively, sharing our knowledge and interests with different people worldwide. Consequently, new literary manifestations emerge from this movement of social evolution and adaptation. Therefore, this paper seeks to explore the main factors that make fanfiction an ally in the literary development of teenagers and young adults. Its value is both sociocultural and cognitive, in subjective and social ways, since "it is in words that the unconscious finds its essential articulation" (DOR, 1980). Furthermore, its relevance within the school space is claimed as a textual genre and also as a facilitating bridge for other reading mediations, through studies on textual genre by linguist Luiz Antônio Marcuschi and literature and society by sociologist Antônio Cândido. KEYWORDS: connections; fanfiction; textual genre; internet; literature. |
