| Abstract: | O discurso oficial, hoje, apresenta a Educação como a grande responsável pela modernização de nossas sociedades, por suas maiores ou menores possibilidades de integrarem-se ao mundo globalizado e à sociedade do conhecimento. Como esforço investigativo, problematizamos a relação entre Educação e Modernização na segunda metade do século XX, tensionada nas proposições reformistas que conduziram, na década de 1960, a reestruturação das universidades brasileiras. Tomamos como objeto de estudo o processo de criação e institucionalização dos programas de pós-graduação, ocorrido na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, por sintetizar duas grandes matrizes que marcaram o debate intelectual e acadêmico brasileiro nos anos de 1960: a da modernização e a do desenvolvimentismo. |
| Abstract: | The official discourse, today, presents Education as the major responsible for the modernization of our societies, for their greater or lesser possibilities of integrating themselves in the globalized world and in the knowledge society. As an investigative effort, we problematize the relationship between Education and Modernization in the second half of the twentieth century, strained in the reformist propositions that led, in the 1960s, to the restructuring of Brazilian universities. We take as object of study the process of creation and institutionalization of the Post Graduation programs that took place at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, for synthesizing two great matrices that marked the Brazilian intellectual and academic debate in the 1960s: that of modernization and developmentalism. |
