dc.description.abstract | This article starts from the approach of the “confidence culture” and its impacts on women working in organizations. This culture operates through the suggestion of individual practices that promise to increase self-confidence and self-esteem. In dialogue with several foucaultian feminist authors, we reflect on how these practices operate as “techniques of the self” in reverse, encouraging women to act on themselves, to reconfigure their body and discursive postures, in line with the disciplinary forces of capitalism. We explore some discursive objects aimed at women's self-regulation at work through the construction of a confident subjectivity, disregarding intersectionalities and social, political and economic forces that keep oppressions and injustices untouched. We are interested in showing how confidence culture favors biopolitical governmentality, denying vulnerability and the importance of constituting reciprocal interactions and sensitive political communities within organizations. | pt_BR |
| pt_BR |
