| Abstract: | O envelhecimento populacional é uma realidade que vem sendo discutida em diversas áreas de estudos, como as áreas da saúde e das neurociências. É comum que algumas doenças passem a se manifestar com mais frequência em idades mais avançadas e uma destas manifestações é a doença de Alzheimer. Doença que traz diversos sofrimentos para o paciente e para os responsáveis pelos cuidados com o indivíduo acometido. Além disso, nem sempre o acesso aos tratamentos é fácil ou barato. Este é um dos motivos pelos quais o objetivo deste trabalho é realizar uma revisão acerca do uso do método Montessori como um possível aliado no tratamento de Alzheimer. Para tanto, 16 artigos foram selecionados para análise e concluiu-se que, apesar de alguns apresentarem resultados positivos, ainda faltam estudos com controles mais rigorosos para comprovar a eficácia do uso do método. Mais pesquisas a respeito da aplicação do método Montessori podem auxiliar na inserção de uma forma de intervenção mais barata e com possibilidade de maior engajamento familiar e do próprio paciente. |
| Abstract: | Population aging is a reality that has been discussed in several areas of study, such as health and neuroscience. It is common for some diseases to manifest more frequently at older ages and one of these manifestations is Alzheimer’s disease. A disease that brings a lot of suffering to the patient and to those responsible for caring for the affected individual. In addition, access to treatments is not always easy or cheap. This is one of the reasons why the objective of this work is to review the use of the Montessori method as a possible ally in the treatment of Alzheimer’s. Therefore, 16 articles were selected for analysis and it was concluded that, although some showed positive results, there is still a lack of studies with more rigorous controls to prove the effectiveness of using the method. More research on the application of the Montessori method may help to introduce a cheaper form of intervention with the possibility of improve family and patient engagement. |
