| Abstract: | Scan statistics have been a very important and active area of statistical research in the past three decades. Detecting areas with a significant concentration of points is an important task in understanding the underlying phenomena in many fields such as: epidemiology, politics, crime analysis, zoology, etc. This study reviews how scan statistics have developed in the last three decades, the main concerns of researchers in scan statistics, and how researchers have approached these concerns. |
| Abstract: | As estatísticas de varredura têm sido uma área muito importante e ativa de pesquisa estatística nas últimas três décadas. Detectar áreas com uma concentração significativa de pontos é uma tarefa importante na compreensão dos fenômenos subjacentes em muitos campos, tais como: epidemiologia, política, análise criminal, zoologia, etc. Este estudo analisa como as estatísticas de varredura se desenvolveram nas últimas três décadas, os principais preocupações dos pesquisadores em estatísticas de varredura e como os pesquisadores abordaram essas preocupações. |
