Biblioteconomia contemporânea: apontamentos e perspectivas

Abstract

Since Antiquity, the library, Librarianship, and the process of training librarians, when going through major historical and technological changes, assimilated the context of different realities and assumed different perspectives. In this sense, this article presents some contemporary perspectives that have transformed the way we theorize and practice contemporary librarianship. It is configured as exploratory and qualitative research and uses the identification of texts on contemporary Librarianship in the BRAPCI database to create this text. We point out that Librarianship has been undergoing constant transformations by social and technological evolution. Thus, we can outline three moments that mark the area's transformations: 1) initially, from a perspective that can be called traditional, marked by a technical bias, the accumulation of large collections and the building; 2) secondly, we have a Librarianship focused on access, availability and sharing of information; and, 3) the third moment, marks contemporaneity, which favors the use of library space beyond informational support, seeking a more participatory, collaborative action focused on learning and the construction of knowledge by communities. Among the contemporary notes and perspectives of Librarianship, the use of libraries as marker spaces, Lankes' New Librarianship and its understanding that knowledge promotes social improvement through the role of librarians as facilitators and the conception of the library as a "third party" stands out. place". Libraries in the current scenario, more than ever, must occupy their secular place as promoters of learning and the collective construction of knowledge.
