Com os pés no chão: lembranças escolares de um estudante da educação de jovens e adultos

Abstract

Recent studies in education seek to recover school experiences in order to understand the educational processes and practices of the past. For this they use diversified documents and in some cases the oral report. The objective of this essay is to describe and interpret the oral report of a student of the Education of Young and Adults whose first school experience happens in the 70s of the XX century in the interior of Minas Gerais. This is a clipping of a research already completed and that had as subjects EJA students who attended high school in a public school of the state network. The research of a qualitative approach used as a data collection instrument the semi-structured interview, developed from a script composed of ten topics that allowed, from the narrative, to portray three distinct moments of its trajectory: childhood; the school; the Education of Youths and Adults. The interview was recorded and later transcribed. The report presented was analyzed from a social and historical perspective supported by Demartini (1994, 2011, 2013); Garnica (2011); Lahire (2005); Lucindo; Gonzaga (2016), among others. We also resort to theses and dissertations in education that deal with subjects involved in educational processes in the same perspective. When questioned about his experiences of schooling in childhood, it was observed in the interviewee's report the recurrence of themes present throughout the history of education in Brazil. The report also highlights its intermittent trajectory in the first years of schooling and issues related to uniform and snack culture, to the teaching strategies used to administer the school with the scarce resources available. We believe that the experience described in the presented testimony can be representative in the set of investigations that contemplate the conditions of the educational offer to the poor sections of the Brazilian population in a spectrum that goes from the initiatives of elementary education in century XIX and reaches more recent periods.
