dc.description.abstract | The surface finishing industry consumes a lot of thermal energy, especially during the drying stage of the parts inside an oven. An alternative to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption is the use of alternative sources, such as solar energy. A solar system using parabolic cylinder-type concentrator collectors was sized and simulated to heat air that is blown into an electrostatic paint curing oven to generate 175 kW of thermal power. The system was simulated with the TRNSYS platform considering a clear sky day, at one-hour intervals, and typical data from a meteorological year from the Meteonorm database for the city of Belo Horizonte - MG. The parabolic troughs used thermal oil as the heat transfer fluid to heat ambient air in a cross-flow heat exchanger, which was injected into the oven. The results showed that the solar system can meet the thermal load required by the process in isolation from 10 am to 5 pm, with the air temperature reaching values above 200 °C. | pt_BR |
| pt_BR |
