| Abstract: | Coleções científicas biológicas são espaços comumente inseridos em instituições de pesquisa e atuam suporte as pesquisas científicas voltadas à biodiversidade. Apesar da riqueza de amostras biológicas presentes nestes espaços, o potencial de ensino de biologia é pouco explorado, tanto pelas limitações técnicas e infraestruturais, quanto pela deficiência de temáticas que possam ser trabalhadas com o uso dos recursos presentes nestes espaços. Atividades educativas envolvendo amostras biológicas são geralmente reservadas aos museus de história natural, porém, estes espaços são limitados no território brasileiro. Baseado nas experiências extensionistas do Herbário Norte Mineiro (MCCA), este trabalho visa apresentar conceitos biológicos que podem ser trabalhados em coleções científicas, como os herbários, além de sugerir metodologias para a inserção destas atividades de ensino e extensão na realidade das coleções científicas brasileiras. |
| Abstract: | Biological scientific collections are spaces commonly inserted in research institutions andsupport scientific research focused on biodiversity. Despite the wealth of biologicalsamples present in these spaces, the potential for teaching biology has been littleexplored, both due to technical and infrastructural limitations, as well as the lack ofthemes that can be worked with the use of the resources present in these spaces.Educational activities involving biological samples are generally reserved for naturalhistory museums, but these spaces are limited in Brazil. Based on the extensionistexperiences of the Herbário Norte Mineiro (MCCA), the aim of this work is to presentbiological concepts that can be worked on in scientific collections, such as herbariums, inaddition to suggesting methodologies for the insertion of these teaching and extensionactivities into the reality of Brazilian scientific collections. |
